In Storage Facility, artist and designer Ben Branagan presents the latest incarnation of his ongoing project–the transformation of pulped remains of deaccessioned library books into an eclectic series of handmade and distinctly non functional pots, vases and ambiguous artifacts. Through his work, Branagan examines the methods we employ to store and recall cultural knowledge and creates an alternative archive of the information these discarded books once held– returning them to an object making tradition that is prehistoric and preliterate. Through Branagan's metaphorical transformation of one kind of vessel to another, he creates the distinct feeling that nothing is lost.
