Simon Anton

Simon Anton has developed his practice using experimental making techniques and a focus on transforming unexpected materials. With a playful and inquisitive attitude, his interest lies in how material narratives are reframed in the act of making. Visceral, textural “dirty craft” joins forces with thoughtful design decisions in the creation of objects that push the border between art and design. Founder of the experimental design collective Thing Thing, he has been creating experimental objects out of recycled plastic for the last 8 years.  Anton graduated in 2020 from the Cranbrook Academy of Art. He is a local Detroit and runs his studio with an emphasis on community and education.
