The Compromise collection pays homage to the intricacies of the ceramic throwing technique. In the traditional process of throwing ceramics on the wheel, a ceramicist often resorts to cutting the creation in half to assess the thickness of its walls. While this act compromises the integrity of the piece, it unveils the captivating cross-section of freshly thrown ceramic vessels, showcasing the artistry involved.

For the Compromise collection, a series of objects were initially crafted using the ceramic throwing technique and then uniquely sliced at oblique angles. This unconventional approach resulted in vessels displaying a novel form of angled thickness not previously observed. These pieces embody a duality of qualities – appearing both complete and incomplete, refined and raw. They strive for a distinctive beauty grounded in the concept of incomplete perfection.
