OP-light is a wall-light series designed by Bilge Nur Saltık. A part of the OP-jects collection, OP-light uses the refraction of light as a tool to create optical illusions.
Nur was interested in distortion and how different materials and textures create different patterns through layering. Her aim was to capture the moving pattern that the distorted effect creates.
This light fixture contains multiple layers of textured panels. Each clear geometrical textured panel functions to reflect the light. By rotating these panels, OP-light creates moving light patterns. Playing with density and the angles of the texture enhances the effect of the illusions. When turned-on, OP-light creates continuous magical and playful visual illusions of light.
