We’re pleased to be part of the curated exhibition Outside in the Middle at Matéria, bringing together four Detroit-based artists and designers in a shared spatial installation.
In this exhibition, distinct collections of objects, vessels, furniture, and display systems unfold along the perimeter of the gallery, intentionally framing an open, empty center. The middle space becomes a pause — a place for movement, reflection, and quiet exchange. Natural elements are woven throughout the room, softening the boundary between interior and exterior.
Outside in the Middle highlights the range of design practices shaping Detroit today while emphasizing the city’s unique relationship to openness — its generous green areas, expansiveness, and sense of possibility. We’re honored to present our work within this collective dialogue, where material, form, and environment meet in conversation.
