OP-light

OP-Light is a wall-mounted lighting series from the OP-jects collection that explores refraction as a design tool for producing optical effects. The work investigates distortion as both a visual phenomenon and a spatial experience, examining how layered materials and surface textures alter the behavior of light.

Composed of multiple clear, geometrically textured panels, each layer functions as a reflective and refractive surface. As the panels are rotated, light is redirected and fragmented, generating shifting patterns across the surrounding space. Variations in density, texture, and angle amplify the illusion, allowing light to appear in motion. Activated through illumination, OP-Light produces a continuous interplay of structure and perception, positioning light itself as an active material within the object.
