Hope Cities

Together with the Vehbi Koç Foundation, we are developing a comprehensive guide to support the establishment of human-centered container settlements following natural disasters. Drawing on the 100-day journey of the “Hope Cities” project—where a fully functioning temporary city with social, educational, health, and recreational facilities was built—we are capturing key learnings to inform future preparedness and coordination efforts.

Led by Form&Seek partner and Social Impact Director Aylin Durmaz, this process began with a cross-sector workshop that brought together experts from civil society, public institutions, and private organizations. A follow-up session focused on exit strategies included key decision-makers from Koç Holding and the Foundation. As the guide nears completion, we are also designing a mobile container museum that will travel across Türkiye to raise awareness, share insights, and ensure these efforts are not forgotten. The full initiative is set to launch in January 2026.
